Fiduciary Services

As Trustee and fiduciary to our clients, we are able to implement policies and procedures that meet a defined standard of fiduciary care and guidance for company sponsored retirement plans. Our fiduciary services help manage fiduciary risk for our clients while improving overall plan performance for participants. These services include:

  • Trusteeship - as Trustee of the Plan, First American Bank is authorized and empowered with all the powers and obligations that are stated in the Plan or separate Trust Agreement. This includes all functions associated with discretionary investment powers, investment duties, and trust administration.
  • Investment Advisory Services - We offer a full range of services to assist you with your Qualified Retirement Plan Service needs, including but not limited to Investment Consulting and Advice, Fiduciary Assistance, Provider Oversight, Plan Design Consulting and Participant Education. Our team of Retirement Plan professionals, consultants and Investment Advisor Representatives assist Plan Sponsors with the construction of Retirement Plan Investment Menus, collaborate with you to implement a Plan Design to meet your current organization needs, objectives and goals, and manage the complexities of your Plan. We can act as a fee-based, 3(21) Investment Co-Fiduciary to guide you through the selection, implementation and monitoring process to help you meet your fiduciary obligations. Our service offering includes services to assist you with your ongoing duty to review your current plan providers, to assist you with alternative provider searches, and to document the process.
  • 404(c) Investment Menu - First American Bank offers a broad range of funds for employee benefit plans, including approved mutual funds across several asset categories in addition to our proprietary funds and Target-Risk model portfolios. Our fund options are regularly evaluated and we may change the offering within a category if warranted due to performance or other evaluation criteria.
