Biometric Authentication for Mobile Banking

Biometric Authentication for First American Bank's Mobile Banking app is available on compatible Android™ and Apple® devices and allows you to quickly and securely log in using your fingerprint or facial recognition. It’s a convenient and safe method of authentication – replacing the need to type in your Login ID and Password to access your account(s).

Requirements

To use this feature, first be sure you have the following:

  • The latest version of the First American Bank Mobile Banking app - your device may automatically update the app or you can find the update in the Android or Apple app stores
  • Biometric Authentication / Touch ID® are enabled within the Settings on your mobile device

Activating Biometric Authentication is easy. Just follow these simple steps:

  • Log in to First American Bank’s Mobile Banking app using your Login ID and Password.
  • Select the options menu located in the upper right hand corner.
  • Select ‘Biometric Authentication’.
  • Create a device name (Ex: Mary’s iPhone) and enter your Login ID and Password. Then, click ‘Enroll’. 
  • Biometric Authentication is now enabled for the First American Bank Mobile Banking app! You’re ready to log in quickly and securely.
  • The next time you log in, confirm your identity by scanning the fingerprint or facial recognition registered on your Android or Apple device.

What is Biometric Authentication?
Biometric Authentication is an optional authentication method offered by First American Bank to sign into First American Bank’s Mobile Banking app from a supported Android or Apple device using your fingerprint or facial recognition rather than your Login ID and Password.
How do I login using Biometric Authentication?
When you launch the First American Bank Mobile Banking app, you will be prompted to scan your fingerprint or use facial recognition on your Android or Apple device.
What if my Biometric Authentication enabled mobile device is lost or stolen?
If your mobile device is lost or stolen you can delete your device at any time from Biometric Authentication by following these steps:
  1. Log in to First American Bank’s desktop site using your Online Banking Login ID and Password.
  2. Select the ‘Profile’ icon at the top of the page.
  3. Select ‘Manage Biometric Authentication’.
  4. Select the delete icon associated with the lost or stolen device.

If I use Biometric Authentication, are my Login ID and Password stored on my mobile device?
Your Login ID and Password information are not stored on your mobile device upon enrollment in Biometric Authentication. You’ll always have the option to access your accounts by entering your Login ID and Password. top
