Fingerprint Authentication for Mobile Banking

Fingerprint Authentication for First American Bank's Mobile Banking app is now available on compatible Android™ and Apple® devices and allows you to quickly and securely log in using your fingerprint. It’s a convenient and safe method of authentication – replacing the need to type in your Login ID and Password to access your account(s).

Requirements

To use this feature, first be sure you have the following:

  • The latest version of the First American Bank Mobile Banking app - your device may automatically update the app or you can find the update in the Android or Apple app stores
  • Fingerprint Authentication / Touch ID® are enabled within the Settings on your mobile device

Activating Fingerprint Authentication is easy. Just follow these simple steps:

  • Log in to First American Bank’s Mobile Banking app using your Login ID and Password.
  • Select the options menu located in the upper right hand corner.
  • Select ‘Fingerprint Authentication’.
  • Create a device name (Ex: Mary’s iPhone) and enter your Login ID and Password. Then, click ‘Enroll’. 
  • Fingerprint Authentication is now enabled for the First American Bank Mobile Banking app! You’re ready to log in quickly and securely.
  • The next time you log in, confirm your identity by scanning the fingerprint registered on your Android or Apple device. Lightly place your finger on the home button to access our Mobile Banking app.

What is Fingerprint Authentication?
Fingerprint Authentication is an optional authentication method offered by First American Bank to sign into First American Bank’s Mobile Banking app from a supported Android or Apple device using your fingerprint rather than your Login ID and Password.
How do I login using Fingerprint Authentication?
When you launch the First American Bank Mobile Banking app, you will be prompted to scan your fingerprint on your Android or Apple device. Lightly place your finger on the home button.
What if my Fingerprint Authentication enabled mobile device is lost or stolen?
If your mobile device is lost or stolen you can delete your device at any time from Fingerprint Authentication by following these steps:
  1. Log in to First American Bank’s desktop site using your Online Banking Login ID and Password.
  2. Select the ‘Profile’ icon at the top of the page.
  3. Select ‘Manage Fingerprint Authentication’.
  4. Select the delete icon associated with the lost or stolen device.

Where is my fingerprint stored?
Information necessary to recognize your fingerprint is stored on your device. First American Bank’s Mobile Banking app leverages this functionality when you log in. First American Bank does not store your fingerprint information.
What happens if new fingerprints are stored on my device after I enroll in Fingerprint Authentication?
Fingerprint Authentication will be disabled when new fingerprints are registered to your device. You will be required to log in with your Login ID and Password in order to re-enroll in Fingerprint Authentication.
If I use Fingerprint Authentication, are my Login ID and Password stored on my mobile device?
Your Login ID and Password information are not stored on your mobile device upon enrollment in Fingerprint Authentication. You’ll always have the option to access your accounts by entering your Login ID and Password. top
