Heidi Diaz, AVP, Human Resources Business Partner at First American Bank, is one of the 2023 recipients of the Excellence in Human Resources Award from South Florida Business & Wealth (SFBW) Magazine. Ms. Diaz was honored for her exceptional performance as a human resources professional.
The SFBW Awards recognize professionals in industries all across South Florida, including banking and financial services, education, healthcare, hospitality, legal services, marketing, and public relations. The awards celebrate those who contribute to the area as a growing hub for talent.
Ms. Diaz was selected out of a pool of several hundred nominees for the award based on a host of criteria, including contributions to the firm and industry, commitment to human resources as a profession, tenure, and community involvement.
As the HR Business Partner for First American Bank, Ms. Diaz services over 880 employees nationwide in areas including payroll and benefits, employee relations, and, for Florida, recruiting. First American Bank is a privately held, full-service bank with over $6 billion in assets serving the Chicago, Milwaukee, Miami, and Tampa markets.
Ms. Diaz sees First American Bank employees as her customers and dedicates herself to providing each one with a personalized dedication.

Almost 4 million Floridians, or 20% of the population, speak Spanish as their primary language at home. As a bilingual professional, Ms. Diaz is highly effective in hiring and training new employees, who, in turn, are empowered to forge strong relationships with customers in the area.
Ms. Diaz has over 17 years of experience in human resources for the banking industry. She joined First American Bank in 2019, where she immediately demonstrated impressive value.
